| Submissions for 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® LOS ANGELES (July 11, 2016) – Submissions of performances for nominations consideration for the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® are now open online at sagawards.org/submissions, SAG Awards® Executive Producer Kathy Connell announced today. Submissions will close on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at 5 p.m. (PST). WHO MAY SUBMIT The Screen Actors Guild Awards are presented by SAG-AFTRA for outstanding individual and ensemble performances in motion pictures, television, cable and new media programs. With the actor’s permission, producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists may submit a performance from 2016 for consideration in a category of the actor’s choosing. Actors may also submit their own performances. Submissions may only be made online. NOMINATIONS VOTING Separate film and television nominating committees will choose the nominees. Each of these panels is comprised of 2,500 SAG-AFTRA members from across the United States who were randomly selected this spring. Nomination voting opens on Thursday, Nov. 17 and closes on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016. Nominations for the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2017. FINAL VOTING Once nominees are selected, all SAG-AFTRA members in good standing may cast votes to determine who will receive this year's coveted Actor® statuettes. Last year's voting body numbered 116,741 SAG-AFTRA members. Final voting opens on Monday, Dec. 19. Online voting is encouraged. Final voting paper ballots are available only upon request between Monday Oct. 3, 2016, and Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. Online votes must be cast or previously-requested paper ballots returned by Friday, Jan. 27 to Integrity Voting Systems, the SAG Awards election firm, where results will be sealed until they are opened onstage at the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Jan. 29 The ceremony will be simulcast live from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT). | About the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented by SAG-AFTRA with Screen Actors Guild Awards, LLC will be produced by Avalon Harbor Entertainment, Inc. and will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT). Actor® Nominations will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. One of the awards season’s premier events, the SAG Awards® annually celebrates the outstanding motion pictures and television performances from the previous calendar year. Of the top industry honors presented to actors, only the SAG Awards are selected entirely by more than 1115,000 performers’ peers in SAG-AFTRA. The SAG Awards was the first televised awards show to acknowledge the work of union members and the first to present awards to motion picture casts and television ensembles.
