Class Description:
This class is designed to explore and enhance the actors’ voice through a series of functional integration exercises freeing the individual actor’s instrument. The class will focus on the areas of warm-up, mindfulness of breathing and breath control, resonating, sounding from center, vocalization and sensitivity to language and character.

DIAGNOSTIC - Voice Training

Class Description:
The Diagnostic Lab is an opportunity for a private 15 minute meeting with the instructor of your choice.

Get one-on-one feedback! Each lab will be limited to six students, 15 minutes for each member. You will be able to choose from eight different instructors this weekend.

Come prepared for your 15 minutes. Bring an audition, a monologue, your headshot, demo and/or marketing questions. The more specific you are, the more you can get out of your time.

Remember: Know your chosen teacher’s area of expertise. If you are signed up for a private session with an instructor who teaches standup comedy, don’t bring in a dramatic monologue!

This is not a substitute for the instructor’s scheduled workshop, but you don’t have to attend their class in order to sign up for the diagnostic.

Level Up: Improv Comedy Class - Initiating Scenes

Class Description:
Knock the rust off the beginning of your improv scenes! This fundamentals workshop is for improvisers with core knowledge of basic scene work to reignite their love for the "top of the scene.” Dive into the art of sparking strong scenes with your ensemble while learning to fuel your creativity out of the gate. We'll play with 'gifting' each other, finding the joy in silent beginnings and discovering how to transform the mundane into comedic gold. Boost your confidence, sharpen your spontaneity and connect with fellow improvisers as you practice playful initiation techniques and embrace the unexpected. Participants should be comfortable in improvisational scenework.

Embrace the Unexpected

Class Description:
Improv is an industry standard on set and also in auditions. If you haven’t already been asked to do it, you will be at some point. In this workshop, you'll explore the fundamentals of improv with a focus on navigating "the new normal." We’ll cover key concepts, their application to acting on stage and on camera and their relevance to everyday life. Expect games, laughter and lots of fun! As an acting coach for nearly 35 years and an actress subjected to the pressures of self-tape delivery, I see many harmful new tendencies and practices in actors’ work. These shortcuts are robbing us of our best artistry. In this class, we’ll explore solutions such as: “opening up” exercises, ways to drop in physically and emotionally before we hit record, essential questions to ask that make your takes soar with your specificity and more.
