What: Amendment 1 is an anti-worker ballot measure that would enshrine the state's 1947 "Right To Work" (For Less) law into the Tennessee state Constitution, making it almost impossible for future generations to change.

Background: Tennessee's anti-labor "Right to Work" laws exist to make CEOs even richer at the expense of their workers. If they don't, why does our state have among the lowest Median Household Incomes in the country, ranking 42 out of 50? Compare that to the average CEO salary which is 351 times that of the average worker. Big Business knows if unions don't have the right to charge members for the services they provide, the unions and their workers will be weaker and the CEOs will be stronger.

Perhaps the most insidious thing about Amendment 1 is that it's designed to ensure that your children and their children never have a viable way of changing that — that they never have fair pay, safe work environments and affordable healthcare.

Thank you for protecting the rights of workers now and in the future!
