For Members

The Telemundo contract provides performers the following benefits:

• Guaranteed Minimum Rates: Guaranteed minimum rates for all covered performer categories (including actors, stunt performers, singers and dancers). These minimums are subject to annual increases of 3% per year during the term of the contract.
• Residuals: Residuals for both foreign and domestic exploitation and streaming platforms (including Peacock), based on a percentage of Telemundo’s gross receipts. Initial compensation above required minimums can be credited against residuals for use on Peacock under certain circumstances. No other crediting against residuals is permitted.
• Working Conditions: Enhanced working conditions such as:
  • Minimum rest period between calls of 10 hours.
  • Requirement for qualified personnel to coordinate stunts.
  • Provisions regarding protection of minors.
  • Overtime, holiday pay, and per diem when on location.
• Health Insurance: By working under SAG-AFTRA agreements, you can earn credits towards high quality, affordable health coverage (including wellness care, medical, hospitalization, prescription drug, mental health, chemical dependency, vision, and dental benefits). These benefits are provided by the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan; for more information visit sagaftraplans.org.
• Life insurance: Individuals who qualify for SAG-AFTRA health insurance also get life insurance and coverage for accidental death and dismemberment.
• Retirement Benefits: Individuals can earn credits towards a pension from the SAG-Producers Pension Plan. For more information visit sagaftraplans.org/sag-pension.
• Additional Benefits: There are additional benefits available exclusively for members of SAG-AFTRA through programs such as the AFL-CIO’s Union Plus. Benefits ranging from mortgage and refinancing savings to auto insurance to discounts on flowers and more are available at no cost to the union or its members.
