We recap our latest events, innovations and work on behalf of members in the latest digital magazine.
It’s been a busy start to 2021 and we’re breaking it all down in the new issue of SAG-AFTRA magazine.
The union has been the driving force behind some groundbreaking efforts in the industry — and beyond! Our 3rd Annual Labor Innovation & Technology Summit was a daylong, virtual conference that brought together union leaders, experts and members to discuss the ways technology is not only shaping the industry, but labor itself. And as the union stays on the pulse of innovation, so too do our services to members and our latest contracts, the SAG-AFTRA Influencer Agreement and Micro-Budget Project Agreement.
But our most visible showcase of technology and innovation took place during the 27th Annual Screen Actors GuildⓇ Awards. For the first time in its history, the ceremony aired virtually in an hour-long special full of laughs and memorable moments, featuring many of our favorite performers.
And innovation isn’t only taking place in the tech world. Each day, the industry is striving to create more diverse, inclusive and equitable spaces, and SAG-AFTRA is helping to lead the way. Our Stop the Hate Week provided a forum for members and experts to discuss how entertainment and media can bring positive change to the American Scene, and the conversations that stemmed from this week of events directly led to actions taken by the National Board to further affect change.
