2023 Houston-Austin Local Elections Committee Notice

This summer, the SAG-AFTRA Houston-Austin Local will be conducting elections and we are currently seeking members willing to participate in our union democracy by serving on the 2023 Houston-Austin Local Elections Committee. 

If you are appointed to the committee, you will need to be available for occasional Zoom meetings from May through September and at least one member of the committee will need to be available in-person for the elections tabulation date which is August 25. The number of meetings may vary depending on local needs. To be eligible to serve, members must be paid-up, in good standing, members of the local and may not be candidates for any position in the 2023 elections. Service on the committee commences immediately upon appointment and will render you ineligible to run for office in 2023.

If you’re not planning to run for office this year, but are interested in serving on this committee, please email houston@sagaftra.org by April 5, or as soon as possible, with your professional name and SAG-AFTRA ID. Your name will then be submitted to the Local Board for consideration and you will be contacted if you are appointed to serve.

For interested candidates that are planning to run for office this year, please note that the official notice of nomination and election which includes details on how to run for office and the election calendar will be distributed in the coming months.
