Urgent Message from LFEA

SB 254 by Senator JP Morrell is scheduled for a final vote in the House of Representatives this Thursday, June 1. That means we are less than 72 hours from a final vote that will dictate the survival of our industry. Your voice and support is needed NOW!

All of us have felt the impact from the legislative changes enacted in 2015. SB 254 seeks to make our industry more stable and more predictable for crew, indigenous filmmakers, small businesses and for those that know the power of the ripple effect of spending when productions are taking place.

LFEA and our board members have worked tirelessly side by side with LED, IATSE Local 478, SAG-AFTRA and many others to get to this final vote on Thursday. We believe that passage of this legislation is our best shot to keep as many people working for the foreseeable future. That being said, words cannot express how critical it is for legislators to hear from you, especially with 72 hours left until this crucial vote.

You can use our VOTERVOICElink to email your House Representative directly.

Please include your personal story of how film has impacted your life, both professionally and financially. Please have any small businesses and vendors you know also reach out to their representatives.

We have been and will continue to fight for film and hope you will make your voices heard once again at this critical juncture. You hold the key to successful final passage of SB 254.
