We encourage you to attend this public hearing and join your fellow SAG-AFTRA Colorado members, other industry unions and stakeholders for the reading of House Bill 23-1309 - Film Incentive Tax Credit.
HB1309 restructures the film incentive program and takes it from its current status as a cash rebate program into a refundable income tax credit for qualified production companies. This is a positive step.
A selection of leaders in a variety of key areas will speak concisely about the issues and the impact additional funds will have on professionals and students, towns and communities, as well as businesses and Colorado's world-renowned brand and lifestyle – but, we need as many bodies in the room as possible to validate the importance of this measure to our community.
When: Thursday April 27, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Colorado State Capitol, Room HCR 0112 - 200 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80203
Supporters have been asked to wear a blue top in solidarity, but also don’t forget to show your SAG-AFTRA pride.
Key Talking Points:
- 4,000-5,000 young adults are studying film, TV and gaming around the state and there aren't enough jobs to sustain them.
- Without meaningful incentives, film and TV projects are not coming here. The state is losing its production infrastructure, availability of equipment, soundstages and its community of professional crews.
