60th Life Achievement Award recipient Jane Fonda shares with SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher the lessons she’s learned throughout her decades-spanning career as an actor, an activist and a woman of the world.
I learned early on in my time as an activist that you can never rest on your laurels when it comes to who has power. What has happened over the last many decades is that, very slowly, women have begun — we're not there by any matter of by any matter of means — we've begun to take power. We've moved into the corporate world; we've moved more into the political world, judicial and cultural. In other words, what we see now, the attacks on us is because we've been so successful.

60th Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Awards Recipient
Jane Fonda’s six decades of on-screen work has earned her praise as one of Hollywood’s most talented and versatile performers. In fact, the only thing that has outweighed her award-winning work is her years championing civil and environmental rights. But what has it been like to work so long in an industry where so many things change, yet stay the same? What more is needed to shift society’s thinking toward key issues like women’s rights and climate change — and where is the balance between it all?
In this Actor to Actor interview with Fonda, now the 60th Screen Actors Guild Award Life Achievement Award recipient, and SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher, she discusses her life, career and legacy. This exchange between these two powerhouses is not to be missed.
