AFL-CIO Asks You To Vote No on the NY Con Con

The following message is brought to you by the New York State AFL-CIO

On November 7, 2017, Election Day, New Yorkers will be asked to vote on Ballot Proposal No. 1 to decide whether or not New York should hold a convention to change our state constitution. The AFL-CIO asks that you vote No. The NY Constitution has powerful worker protections built into it which cannot be changed without a Convention. One of the driving forces behind the push for the Convention is coming from interests bent on taking away public employees’ wages, benefits, and rights. Now, more than ever, we need to protect public workers’ rights, including pensions and workers comp. The referendum question is on the back of the Ballot.
