The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory presents: Scene Study for the Working Actor with Clayton Landey
This is Stella Adler based work, designed so that you ask the most effective questions (based in Who, What, When, Where, Why) to bring you to the focused point of being alive and in the moment, as that character. The real question is NEVER how to play it. The real question is how to BE it.
Participants will choose a monologue from a published play or screenplay. Monologues must be approximately three minutes in length. They should speak to you and challenge you. Ethnicity and gender do not matter but they need to be in your age range. You must be off book and come fully prepared to do the work with any props and costumes. You MUST READ the entire play or screenplay. Do not choose work from television or a book of monologues or scenes written specifically for acting classes.
Landey has been a professional performer, mime, actor, director, producer, writer and acting teacher for over 50 years with over 400 theatre, film, episodic television and commercial credits. His training includes a BA in Drama from the University of Houston, a year with Darryl Hickman, and Masters classes with Stella Adler and Marlon Brando
Only 10 members will participate. There will be a waitlist. If you must cancel, you must do so within 24 hours of the event so another member may participate.
Doors will close at 7:05 p.m. No one will be admitted after that time out of respect for our presenter and participants.
Our Conservatory will be collecting non-perishable food items for Atlanta Community Food Bank.
RSVP: Reservations are required. Please complete the form below to RSVP; you must be logged in to RSVP.
This event is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid thru April 30, 2025). No guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.
