The National Spanish Language Media Committee sponsored an amazing workshop presented by SAG-AFTRA New York Local member Manny Herrera April 14, Audiobooks and Dubbing Workshop – En Español. The workshop was held in Miami at Criteria Studios, previously known as The Hit Factory. The presenter’s experience and the history of the recording studio where the workshop was held made the event extra special. Spanish Language Media Committee Co-Chair Memo Sauceda hosted the workshop, which was conducted in Spanish.
The event was fun and dynamic and offered the participants a comprehensive view of the world of audiobooks and dubbing. Workshop topics included how to find employment and audiobook dubbing techniques. Herrera worked individually with all participants to capture the strengths and weaknesses of each one and offered feedback and advice.
Members also had the opportunity to interact with each other as they learned and recorded. They were excited to learn about these areas of employment where they can branch out and expand their careers.
