Attention All Members Who Do Audiobook Narration Work
Pink Flamingo Productions was signed to a SAG-AFTRA Audiobook contract effective Jan. 1, 2022. Shortly after the expiration of the contract on Dec. 31, 2023, the company advised union staff that they did not intend to renegotiate. SAG-AFTRA staff endeavored to meet with the company in hopes of changing their minds, but were unsuccessful.
This is the first time that a company has walked away from a union contract covering audiobook narration. As such, Pink Flamingo Productions was advised in writing that SAG-AFTRA staff would have no choice but to advise our membership that members may not work for the company in the absence of a union contract, and the company acknowledged receipt via reply to the email notification.
Therefore, with the disappointed but unanimous support of the SAG-AFTRA Audiobook Steering Committee, the Executive Committee of the National Board has voted to issue a “No Contract, No Work” order against Pink Flamingo Productions (for clarity this includes Fireside Audio and Northern Lake Audio).
SAG-AFTRA members are hereby informed that no member may accept work with this company until such time as it becomes signatory to a SAG-AFTRA agreement and that violation of such order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA Constitution.
