This event is free and open to the general public. Must be a member in good standing in Houston-Austin Local or Dallas-Fort Worth Local to participate.

Pound Cake by Scott Honea
Concerned by the sudden disappearance of his favorite customer, a directionless sandwich shop manager (POUND CAKE) and his pregnant sidekick (NAE NAE) dive headfirst into an adventure to solve the missing-person mystery.
Looking for performers able to portray the following:
• Pound Cake - Lead, Male, early 40s. Caucasian. Our Hero. Has a heart of gold and a curiosity that sometimes gets him into trouble. Maybe not as smart as he thinks he is. Very driven even if the destination is ill-advised.
• Nae Nae – Lead, Female, early 20s. African American. Pound Cake’s co-worker, sidekick and unrequited love interest. She’s eight months pregnant.
• Keith - Supporting, Male, 20s-40s, Any race. Pound Cake’s slacker co-worker.
• Gary – Supporting, Male, 40s. Caucasian. Pound Cake’s favorite customer. His disappearance is the thrust of the story. “Matt Damon” if he really let himself go. Boston accent.
• Fred – Supporting, Male, 60s-70s. Caucasian. Pound Cake’s father, a retired magician. Sees potential in his son, no matter what.
• Aileen – Supporting, Female, 60s-70s. Caucasian. Pound Cake’s mother, roommate and arch nemesis.
• Steven – Supporting, Male, 30s. Caucasian. Pound Cake’s younger, more successful brother. Kind of a jerk.
• Detective Slinger – Supporting, Male, 30s-40s. African American. One of two lead cops on the missing person’s case. Idris Elba look-alike.
• Detective Locknow – Supporting Male, 30s-40s. Any race. Other lead cop on the missing person’s case. Bad cop to Slinger’s good cop.
• Remy – Supporting Male, 20s. African American. Nae Nae’s boyfriend and the father of her baby. Clashed with Pound Cake.
• Laney - Supporting Female, 30s-40s. Caucasian. Gary’s wife, a stripper and possibly a schemer.
• Monsoon/Bouncer – Supporting Male, 30s-40s. African American. Strip Club bouncer, huge guy, friendly enough.
• Cop2/Detective – Male or Female, 20s-40s. Any race.
• Pamela – Female, 60s-70s. Caucasian. Gary’s heartbroken mother, desperate to see her son again.
• John – Male, 60s-70s. Caucasian. Gary’s father. Ex-military. Angry about his son being gone.
• Crossfit Guy – Male, 30s-40s, very fit. Any Race. He can’t figure out which sandwich he wants.
• Josh – Male, teenager. Any Race. Smart-mouthed teen who works at the water park.
• Cop 1 – Male or Female, 20s-40s. Any race.
• Patrick the Magic – Male, 60s-70s. Any race. Magician who offers a heartfelt eulogy.
• Preacher Don – Male, 50s-60s. Any race. Classic funeral preacher.
• Candy the Realtor – Female, 40s. Any race. Really wants to help sell a house.
• Mr. Lemons – Male, 60s-80s. Any race. Pound Cake’s neighbor.
• Brunette Stripper – Female, 20s-40s. Any race. Stripper who gets a little “handsy” with Pound Cake.
• Strip Club Buffet Customer – Male, any age. Any race. Just wants some food, not to have a conversation.

• Whimsy – Female, 30s. Any race. Steven’s wife. Not a fan of Pound Cake or his antics.
• Hunter – Male, 10-12. Caucasian. Steven’s son. Jerky little kid just like his dad.

• Meth Head #1 – Male, 20s-30s. Caucasian. Strung out druggy who thinks he’s funny.
