SAG-AFTRA’s Ohio-Pittsburgh Local invites you to a two-session self-tape workshop with Randy Kovitz in person in Pittsburgh.
Self-tapes have become the preferred method for casting directors in our local and across the country. Learn how to send in a sel-tape that shows you off to your best advantage.
Kovitz has worked onstage (on and off Broadway and in regional theater) and on both sides of the camera in New York, Los Angeles and in-between for more than 40 years. He is also an award-winning director, and teaches Acting for the Camera at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Drama, where he also produces and directs the showcase video content for the graduating actors showcase.
The first session on April 14 will be a lecture/demo with Q&A and an assignment to shoot and submit a self-tape. The second session on April 21 will be viewing and critiquing the self-tapes that were submitted, plus a Q&A.

This workshop is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA Ohio-Pittsburgh members in good standing (paid through April 30, 2025) — no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card for admittance.
