Logline: After a heart-wrenching breakup, Leon meets his ex, Megan, to discuss their past, only to be confronted with the harsh reality that she craves excitement over perfection. As Leon grapples with his emotions, a chance encounter with a spontaneous skateboarder named Jenny might just be the unexpected ride he needs to move forward.
Themes & Character Dynamics: Heartbreak & Moving On: Leon’s struggle to accept that Megan isn’t meant for him. Friendship: Bobby pushes Leon toward healing, proving that good friends matter. New Beginnings: Jenny’s introduction hints at Leon’s potential to find love again.
Seeking performers able to read the following roles:
Leon
- Protagonist: A heartbroken young man struggling with a recent breakup.
- Personality: Kind, thoughtful, and a hopeless romantic. Treats his ex, Megan, with deep care and respect.
- Conflict: Still in love with Megan and has trouble moving on, despite knowing she isn’t right for him.
- Arc: Initially stuck in the past but slowly begins to move on, thanks to his friend Bobby and a new potential connection with Jenny.
Megan
- Leon’s Ex-Girlfriend: The one who breaks Leon’s heart.
- Personality: Independent, adventurous, and seeking excitement over stability.
- Conflict: Feels suffocated by Leon’s “perfect” love and wants something more spontaneous.
- Arc: Ends things with Leon for good, but offers him closure and encouragement to move on.
Bobby
- Leon’s Best Friend: Loyal, energetic, and fun-loving.
- Personality: Supportive but blunt, trying to get Leon out of his slump.
- Conflict: Frustrated that Leon is stuck on Megan and wants him to snap out of it.
- Arc: Sets up Leon with Jenny, proving he’s a true friend who genuinely cares.
Jenny
- New Love Interest: A skater girl introduced by Bobby.
- Personality: Confident, cool, and passionate about skating.
- Role: Represents new possibilities and a fresh start for Leon.
- Arc: No major development, but serves as a symbol of moving forward.
Megan’s New Boyfriend
- Minor Character: Symbolizes Megan’s move away from Leon and her desire for something different.
- Role: Drives her away in his sports car, solidifying the breakup.

About the Writers:
Bobby Ysip, from Hercules, began skateboarding at 9 and appeared in a local video at 11. He later focused on basketball, winning championships and playing for his high school team as the only Asian player. After high school, he worked in radio at stations like Z95.7, KKSF Jazz and Live 105. Bobby then worked as a meter reader for the San Francisco Water Department for six years. During this time, he developed an interest in acting and film production, eventually becoming a production assistant in 2017. Over time, he progressed to a union Teamster location manager and is now a member of SAG-AFTRA.
Steven Orcino is an actor and voice actor and having done regional commercials, music videos, training videos, lifestyle modeling, web series, podcast shorts, short films (live action and animation) as well as 4 full feature indie films and foreign film dubbing. Love Sick is his first short film script collaboration.
