On Aug. 10, Local Board member Jim Ed Brown celebrated his 50th year as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He joined the Opry originally as a part of the group The Browns, which was comprised of Jim Ed and his sisters, Maxine and Bonnie, who were both in attendance at the ceremony to help celebrate this momentous occasion. Following the dissolution of The Browns, Jim Ed enjoyed a successful solo career.  At the most recent board meeting, he was presented an award commemorating his years on the Opry. He was quite proud to point out that he has been a member of AFTRA longer than he has been a member of the Opry. Congratulations, Jim Ed!
