SAG-AFTRA member Kesha performed at Pride Live’s Stonewall Day outside the historic Stonewall Inn on June 24.

The occasion also marked the groundbreaking of the Stonewall National Monument Visitors Center. Set to open in 2024, the center will share the history of the 1969 Stonewall riots and its impact on the LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Among those sending video greetings for the special occasion were SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and SAG-AFTRA member Barack Obama. In 2016, then-President Obama declared the area around Stonewall Inn to be the country’s first national monument to LGBTQ+ rights.

SAG-AFTRA is a longtime supporter of Pride Live's efforts to preserve the legacy of Stonewall.
