Despite the rainy weather, more than 75 enthusiastic Chicago Local members attended the annual local membership meeting on June 18. The members enjoyed a selfie photo booth, wonderful food and great company.

The highlight of the evening was Chicago Local’s Bob Baron being recognized for his over 60 years of dedicated service to the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Local.

The theme of this year’s meeting was “Don’t Wait: Create!” After the business meeting, members stayed to hear a panel of local actors and producers sharing tips, tools and experiences for creating their own projects.

WGN Anchor and SAG-AFTRA member Lourdes Duartes moderated a panel that included:

•    Angie Gaffney, producer, Black Apple Media and Stage 18.
•    Elizabeth Laidlaw, producer/SAG-AFTRA member, The Haven web series.
•    Mia McCullough, creator and co-producer, The Haven web series.
•    Puja Mohindra, actor, writer, producer and SAG-AFTRA member, Gretta’s Guide To Moving On web series.
•    Troy Pryor, Creative Cypher founder; Urban Broadcast Media’s president of production; and SAG-AFTRA member.
