We, the undersigned employees, are the hard-working and dedicated content professionals of Classical MPR. Every single day we strive to “enrich the mind and nourish the spirit” of every listener through our programming, reliable on-air companionship and a lively digital presence.

In these unprecedented and uncertain times, we seek a more active role in the decisions that shape our lives and our futures. We want Classical MPR to attract and retain a diverse workforce by upholding our mission and values. We want all of our colleagues protected — from our youngest workers to the most senior staffers, and to create an environment that feels welcoming and inspiring to future colleagues.

We are seeking fair, equitable and transparent compensation; an actionable and measurable plan to diversify our staffing and programming; consistency and transparency in employee discipline and termination; and expanded protections and benefits.

There is no doubt in our mind that we deserve a seat at the table. For these reasons, we choose to form a union with SAG-AFTRA for the purpose of collectively negotiating our wages, hours and working conditions.

We therefore request that you voluntarily recognize this petition as demonstration that SAG-AFTRA represents a majority of employees in a unit appropriate for collective bargaining, and that you meet and confer with us in good faith to begin the collective bargaining process.

We truly believe in the mission of Classical MPR, and our goal is its continued success.

I hereby designate the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) as my collective bargaining representative.
