On Feb. 12, the Nevada Local hosted a Theatrical/Non-Episodic New Media Low-Budget Contracts workshop for 50 film and theater students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Presented by SAG-AFTRA Entertainment Contracts Business Representative Tawanda L. Duck, students learned about the SAG-AFTRA signatory process, the scope and costs of low-budget contracts and best practices for filmmakers. The following day, Duck received an email from Professor Adam Paul stating, “Your enthusiasm, clarity and generosity had a significant impact on our group, and I hope you could feel their genuine interest in the options available to them.”
