Our Dec. 12 mixer gathering was made extra special by collecting new unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots charity. As a reminder, the Second Monday Mixer has officially moved to a new location: Bar Louie, across from the Lagoon Theatre in the Uptown Minneapolis area. Bar Louie has an all-day happy hour on Mondays, which definitely makes socializing with your peers more economical. They serve selected appetizers at half price, in addition to beer and wine specials. The upstairs balcony level is a comfortable gathering place, and conversation usually flows freely.

A special Bar Louie mixer, graciously hosted by glamorously dressed board members Sandy Thomas, Elena Giannetti and Shelli Place, was held on Jan. 29 for the screening of the SAG Awards. A good crowd of local members and their guests were treated to light appetizers, multiple big-screen TVs, and lots of opportunities to connect with peers and cheer on the nominees and winners. It turned out to be a festive evening of celebrating the award-worthy work by our fellow actors and proved to be a great venue for local SAG-AFTRA members to share their own stories with each other.
