Longtime SAG-AFTRA member and former shop steward Deb Lamberton has retired after a three-decade career at WETA.
A radio producer, announcer, musician and mother, Lamberton’s public radio career spans more than four decades. She joined the union on Nov. 3, 1977. An on-air host for VivaLaVoce and fill-in host on Classical WETA, Lamberton produced NSO Showcase and Front Row Washington. She also produced online feature interviews with world-renowned figures in the classical music world for Classical Conversations.
Since joining WETA in 1986, Lamberton has produced live concert broadcasts from the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress and Washington National Cathedral. She also produced WETA’s award-winning Music from Washington series and the Fortas Chamber Music series, and is a frequent host for the National Symphony Orchestra’s ForeWords presentations.
Lamberton’s last on-air shift for Classical WETA was on March 21 and her last day at VivaLaVoce was on April 1.
