The SAG-AFTRA Finance Committee and Executive Committee have unanimously approved work dues relief for any SAG-AFTRA member with a perfected claim against KMR for outstanding KMR payments.

To All KMR Claimants:

SAG-AFTRA recognizes the financial loss that aggrieved KMR clients are experiencing. This is unprecedented in our union’s history, and we are here to assist you during this difficult time.

As a result, the SAG-AFTRA Finance Committee and Executive Committee have unanimously approved work dues relief for any SAG-AFTRA member with a perfected claim against KMR for outstanding KMR payments.

WORK DUES RELIEF
For those members with an existing perfected claim, SAG-AFTRA is reducing their reported earnings by the amount owed by KMR, thus lowering the dues owed to the union. If the member has already paid their May 2024 dues prior to this reduction in work dues owed, this reduction will show as credit against future dues. Should a member want a refund of this credit, please call SAG-AFTRA at (855) 724-2387.

Please note: Only those affected performers able to demonstrate that a perfected claim is filed with the union are eligible for work dues relief.

What is a perfected claim? This is a claim where a member provides endorsed checks from the employer/paymaster that indicate KMR cashed those signatory checks, along with the corresponding check stubs or a talent payment report that demonstrate the work was covered by SAG-AFTRA jurisdiction. As a claimant, if you have not yet done so, please provide SAG-AFTRA proof of loss (aka a perfected claim) as soon as possible. While there is no technical deadline to provide this documentation for SAG-AFTRA work dues relief, we do urge you to act quickly.

EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Additionally, aggrieved members who are facing a personal financial crisis due to a perfected claim against KMR may qualify for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's emergency financial assistance program. The Foundation's Emergency Financial Assistance Program offers emergency assistance grants to eligible members to assist with some basic living expenses. Visit the Emergency Financial Assistance page of the Foundation's website for details. The Foundation asks all members to carefully read through all eligibility guidelines, review the full application process, and be prepared to provide all documentation required for consideration. Aggrieved members must complete an application, which includes demonstrating a perfected claim against KMR, and supply all documents required by the Foundation for committee review to determine eligibility. Due to current caseload numbers, the review process could take up to three weeks, so please be patient with the process. Emergency financial assistance grants are determined on a case-by-case basis, dependent upon the immediate financial impact and need.To preserve the Foundation’s resources, please do not phone or email the Foundation outside the application process at the link above.

We recognize the incredible hardship that this has caused for many of our members, and we are committed to supporting you as much as possible. For now, please let us know if you have any questions.
