Los Angeles (August 30, 2005) --- Screen Actors Guild announced today that emergency financial assistance is available to Guild members affected by Hurricane Katrina. The Guild's Miami office will help disburse money -- per standard requirements -- from the Motion Pictures Players Welfare Fund, an assistance program designed to help performers in need. Screen Actors Guild members impacted by the storm can also call The Actors' Fund of America, which will provide both emergency financial assistance and ongoing case management.
