On-Set Paperwork & Protocol Workshop 1 PM session

With film and episodic production beginning to pick up in Minnesota, so too has confusion about exactly what kind of paperwork is required before shooting begins, when reporting to set, and following the production wrap.  

You are invited to join staff and Local leaders from the Twin Cities for a workshop to inform members about what is expected when you show up to work on Day 1.  

Our special guest is Kathy Byrne, Senior Director of TV & Theatrical from the Chicago local. We will be hosting afternoon and evening sessions to accommodate as many busy schedules as possible.  

Don’t miss out on the chance to learn, confirm, and discuss how members can help streamline the paperwork process from Day 1 to wrap of production.

The Atlanta Conservatory: Trilith Studios invites you to an Open House

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory Presents: Trilith Studios invites you to an Open House.

Attendees will experience a studio tour followed by a panel presented by the Trilith Foundation. Join us to learn how to overcome exhaustion, restore connection, and spark inspiration to help you flourish as an artist. 

The Trilith Foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of creatives who inspire the world – meaning you! Speakers on the panel will include Mark Fincannon, Casting Director, Elizabeth Dixon, CEO of Trilith Foundation, and more.

Light food and refreshments will be provided.

Join Tim Powell for Self-Tape Solutions for Actors!


This workshop focuses on the practical aspects of creating self-tape auditions, which are essential for actors in today's industry. Participants learn how to improve their audition performances, achieve high-quality lighting and audio, and handle the technical aspects of compressing and delivering their audition tapes efficiently and effectively, all on a fast turnaround within the constraints of a limited budget. The objective is to instill self-reliance and equip professional actors with the skills to submit self-tape auditions meeting industry standards.


Tim Powell has extensive experience in the entertainment industry, with a career that encompasses both acting and production roles over forty years. He specializes in producing self-tapes, a skill he has honed for over twenty years.

As an instructor, Tim designed and taught his Technology and Minimalism classes at The SAG-AFTRA Conservatory hosted by the American Film Institute in Hollywood for three years. He has also led Self-Taping Solutions Workshops for a wide range of organizations, including SAG-AFTRA and its Conservatory in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, The Television Academy, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, UCLA, USC, A-List International, CBS, Netflix, and various regional performer’s groups.

Audiobooks - 101 & Workshop

This workshop being held on a Thursday evening will introduce you to the audiobook industry as well as provide in-studio practice and feedback on ways to improve your craft. Audio narration is one of the fastest growing segments for union performers today! Isn’t it worth your time to find out if this avenue is right for you? This program will be taught by working audiobooks professional and SAG-AFTRA member, Sean Pratt.

  • Why audiobook narration is its own unique style of VO.
  • Why your audiobook demo is different from your commercial VO demo.
  • The art, effort and attitude of narrating audiobooks.
  • The differences between the fiction and nonfiction genres.

In the second half of the program, a limited number of members will be selected by lottery to work in a VO booth and get direction from Sean. Members who wish to participate in this workshop portion must prepare 1-2 pages from a fiction or nonfiction book of their choosing and be very familiar with the text. Lottery will be held after registration closes and additional instructions will be provided. 

Cost: SAG-AFTRA member cost for this program is $40. Non-Member cost is $60. Upon registration you will be sent a link for payment. After payment is received, you will be emailed the location. There are no refunds if you cancel.

About Rich Varville

Rich Varville is a San Diego based filmmaker and recording artist that gained notoriety from his unique style of story-based, cinematic, music films. In addition, he produces and directs narrative, industrial, and documentary films through his company RSVP FILMS.

Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, he studied media production at Pikes Peak College before relocating to San Diego and studying psychology at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. These two very different studies eventually led to his vision of creating thought provoking films that illustrate the human condition.

The Atlanta Local Conservatory Presents Creating Self-Tape Success

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory Presents: Creating Self-Tape Success with Cecelia Specht

This workshop is for actors of every level. We will cover all aspects of the Self-Tape Audition: from clearly understanding casting's instructions, to the basic equipment and an easy home set-up, to a quick and effective script analysis, to confidently submitting your best work. We will also cover why and when it is a good idea to go into a taping service to shoot your audition, and how to best prepare for it so your reader can do their best job for you, and you can achieve booking success.

Cecelia Specht has been a professional actress for over 25 years and has taught all over the world including, the University of Melbourne, the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, and various studios here in Atlanta. For the last three years, Cecelia has been coaching and shooting self-tape auditions at Actor Taping Services and has shot thousands of self-tape auditions for actors of every level here in the Southeast.

A chance to get suggestions and advice from seasoned experts.  

The moderator, Lee Garlington, will ask questions for the first 20-30 minutes. The evening will then be opened up for you to ask your questions.
