Committee Chair Casey E. Lewis provides an update from the Film Festival Committee.

"The newest Twin Cities Local committee, the Film Festival Committee, was approved by the Local Board in October prior to our participation in our first festival experience at Catalyst Content Festival in Duluth. Committee members Paul Cram, then-Board member Shelli Place, Local President Peter Moore and I worked with Director of Locals Administration Bill Hendrickson in Chicago to insure that our participation went smoothly. We organized a workshop for content creators to learn about agreements and working with SAG-AFTRA. Member volunteers engaged with festival attendees during the days at the SAG-AFTRA Lounge and in the evenings at Abrams Artists Agency-sponsored industry parties. Members also showcased their talents at the live script-reading series, which was partially organized by local member Catherine Campion.

"In November, Local Board member Paul Cram and I met with a Twin Cities Film Fest representative to discuss ways in which the committee might partner with TCFF, both during its annual festival and with ongoing programs.

"Prior to the holidays, Bill and I began talks with Catalyst Executive Director Philip Gilpin Jr. about building on our partnership at the 2020 festival. We look forward to our continued discussions with Philip to define what this will look like. We also look forward to the opportunities other festivals in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota will bring for our local and all of its members."
