Here’s a quick update and reminder about what you as a SAG-AFTRA member can do to get involved and help bring back work to Arizona. As you well know, Arizona Film Incentive Bill SB1708 will bring jobs and opportunities that will benefit our state on many levels. It is nearing the finish line and here is the latest news as well as two action items that you can do.
SB1708 is awaiting the chance to be heard on the floor of the House. Our legislature is currently in the lengthy process of negotiating the state budget, so this bill is patiently waiting in the wings until this colossal task is accomplished.
In the meantime, continue flooding your social media with positive messages (complete with hashtag #SB1708) which reaffirm why film incentives are great for small businesses and the Arizona economy. Feel free to add your own wording to help personalize it. Suggested examples of what to post on Twitter and Facebook are here.
And continue to thank your House representatives for their support of SB1708. Keep your wording polite and courteous, and provide a brief message on why film incentives makes dollars and sense for Arizona. The full list of emails can be copied/pasted from here.
