In the past weeks, SAG-AFTRA, other unions, and the entire MA film and TV production community pushed hard to get the removal of the sunset to the film and TV incentive as part of the House and Senate Economic Recovery bills.
We made hundreds of calls to the Senate and sent over 2,100 emails to the legislature just in the past 4 days. Thanks to all of you who participated by making calls and sending emails. Our voices were heard and our supporters encouraged.
While disappointed, our supporters in the House and Senate and all the film and TV stakeholders in MA (SAG-AFTRA, IATSE Locals, Teamsters Local 25, MPC, New England Studios, MPA and more) are still committed to working to get this done so the industry can continue to grow and thrive here.

We should be proud of our advocacy efforts. You can be sure that there are no Massachusetts legislators who aren’t aware that there are a lot of workers and voters out there in their districts who make a living in our industry and support continuing the Film & TV Incentive past the sunset date of December 31, 2022.
We will continue the fight and keep you updated on this campaign, and thank you again for the outstanding support you provided this week.
