Financial Assistance is Available from MPTF

The message below is being sent to you on behalf of the MPTF.

MPTF has partnered with the SAG-AFTRA Producers Industry Advancement and Cooperative Fund (IACF) to provide SAG-AFTRA members with one-time financial assistance for those affected by the industry shut down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Thanks to the generosity of the IACF, funds are still available. We encourage members in need who meet certain eligibility criteria to apply. 

To qualify for assistance, a member must:  

• Be able to demonstrate earnings of $6,500 per year for 3 of the last 5 years; or $5,000 per year for at least 10 of any 20 years of their career working in the industry.
• Complete an application.
• Have no more than $10,000 in liquid assets available when applying. Bank statements will be requested.
• Provide a household bill such as rent/mortgage that documents identity and financial situation. 
• Have not previously received financial assistance through an IACF grant from The Actors Fund or MPTF.

SAG-AFTRA members who believe they qualify can call the MPTF intake line at (323) 634-3888 or contact MPTF through our website; mptf.com. An MPTF social worker will then reach out to those applying to assess their eligibility and specific circumstances/needs. 

Payment of grant:
The IACF grants are up to $1,000. Grants are not made payable to the member directly, but rather to those designated vendors (e.g., banks for mortgages or car payments, utility company, landlord, etc.) provided to the MPTF social worker.
