While winter and COVID-19 are taking their toll, we know how important it is for families and individuals to have access to nutritious food. Because of that, we are excited to share this opportunity with you to not only potentially volunteer to help, but also as an opportunity for you to receive some nutritious food for your shelves, too.
Get Nutritious Food FREE
Working Partnerships and the USDA’s federal Farmers to Families program is helping to get nutritious food out to our communities. On Feb. 27 and March 20, people will be able to drive through and pick up a box of nutritious food for themselves and their families. This entire event will be following COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols. We invite all to come and pick up food for themselves or others. Usually these boxes include chicken, pork, cheese, potatoes, onions and other fresh produce as well as a gallon of fresh milk.
When It’s Happening

Ways You Can Help if You Want
- Volunteer
- Donate the use of a forklift
- Donate the use of a pallet jack
Volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts. While individuals could assist, they really prefer that volunteers come in groups of two who are COVID-safe partners. KerryJo Felder of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers can provide more details on everything you'll need. COVID safety guidelines will be followed.
If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to KerryJo Felder, organizer, Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation at kerry@minneapolisunions.org.
