The Louisiana Legislature began a special session on Tuesday, May 22. The Louisiana Film & Entertainment Association (LFEA) is closely monitoring the events at the Capitol on an hourly basis. LFEA is a professional trade association created to grow the entertainment industry in the state of Louisiana. SAG-AFTRA is a supporter of LFEA.
Last week two bills were introduced that could negatively impact the film industry. The LFEA was in Baton Rouge to testify and to send out calls for action. Thankfully neither of the bills passed. However, new legislation relating to tax credits can be raised at any time during the special session.
You can register on LFEA’s VoterVoice platform so you can take action on short notice when necessary.
