Happy Labor Day

Labor Day is a holiday in celebration of all workers. On behalf of your local staff, we wish all of the members of the SAG-AFTRA Washington Mid-Atlantic Local a restful and peaceful Labor Day Weekend. We also wish to dedicate this special Labor Day E-Scoop to the memory of SAG-AFTRA member Margot Adler. Margot was a longtime NPR correspondent and for many years served as shop steward for the 400 members working under the NPR contract. NPR is the largest SAG-AFTRA broadcast contract nationwide, and we owe part of this to Margot. She fought the good fight. We wish to thank NPR Correspondent Howard Berkes for remembering Margot and writing this article for all of us, and the employees at NPR who worked with Margo over the years. Margot’s memory and love for the labor movement will not be forgotten.
