We hope this Thanksgiving finds you well. It is during times like these, filled with uncertainty and upheaval, that it’s particularly important to reflect on the things for which we are grateful. In doing so, we are reminded of our strength as individuals and as members of a larger community.

First and foremost, we are thankful for our members’ solidarity and we are inspired by their resilience. Performers are adapting to new modes of production and strict safety protocols, and our broadcasters have worked tirelessly to keep the public informed during this eventful year.

We are thankful for the medical professionals on the front lines and the scientists working to make a COVID vaccine a reality.

We are also thankful for the teachers, mail carriers, grocery clerks, trash collectors, utilities workers and everyone else providing essential services that keep our lives up and running with some sense of normalcy.

And a special shout-out to the SAG-AFTRA employees who come into the office to process residuals so that our members can get their money when they need it most; to the business reps and other staff working with producers on safety issues; and to the field reps who are visiting sets in person to ensure that safety protocols are being followed as the industry returns to production.

We find our strength in the SAG-AFTRA community, which is why it’s so important to help strengthen the community in return. If you are in the position to make a charitable gift this year, please consider donating to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation COVID-19 Disaster Fund to help members in need.

SAG-AFTRA also has a long standing partnership with the USO, with whom we’ve been working for decades to lift the spirits of America’s Armed Forces, many of whom are serving their country far from home. If you’re in a position to do so, we ask that you consider a donation of any amount to the USO to share your gratitude. You can donate at uso.org/sagaftra.

As we look ahead to the holiday season and the new year to come, we are filled with hope and deep appreciation for our members.

Happy Thanksgiving,
