Hawaii Local members participated in the 39th Annual Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) by volunteering and being cast in films as background actors and principal performers. Part of this year’s festival included screenings of made-in-Hawaii shorts. Sold-out audiences viewed screenings on the island of Oahu Nov 7–17. Screenings continued on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai and Maui Nov. 21–24.
These made-in-Hawaii shorts were completed with the help of many talented professionals and organizations through various venues, one of which was the ‘Ohina Filmmakers lab. The ‘Ohina Short Film Showcase was part of HIFF Fall 2019. Several Hawaii Local members were cast in this year’s selected short films.
Many organizations and talented professionals all came together as a close community to tell the stories that capture who we are in Hawaii.
