Executive Director, SAG-AFTRA Nashville Local
There is a good chance that someone you know or love has been affected by leukemia, lymphoma or melanoma. Today, more than 1 million Americans are living with one of these diseases and someone is diagnosed every four minutes. This is your opportunity to fight back, help find a cure and improve the quality of life for patients and families affected by these diseases.
This year, SAG-AFTRA Nashville Local members can walk as a team in the Light the Night Walk, which will take place on Friday, Oct. 11 at LP Field.
In 2012, 200 walk events in the U.S. and Canada raised more than $55 million for blood cancer research and patient services. The Tennessee chapter held two walks with 7,000 participants and raised more than $700,000. SAG-AFTRA Nashville Local members can help increase this year’s total.
If you would like to join me and be part of this year’s fundraising event at LP Field, please register by contacting the Nashville office at (615) 327-2944. I’ve already received sponsorship donations from members, friends and family who are not able to participate, but want to be a part and contribute to this campaign by sponsoring my walk.
Together, we can help transform the lives of cancer patients and their families by securing sponsors and participating in this walk.
Thank you and I hope you will join me on Oct. 11 at LP Field.
