Would you be interested in volunteering to help UH medical students with their training? Consider signing up to be a standardized patient for the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Depending upon the exam schedule, some are in person at the Center for Clinical Skills and some are telehealth exams online. Medical students get to practice and be evaluated on their communication and clinical skills through these standardized patient exams. No acting experience is required, but is a plus as standardized patients get training to accurately and repeatedly portray a patient with a certain medical background and conditions. Several of us have been “acting” for the medical students for many years now.
