Learn more about the free classes and support available to SAG-AFTRA members.
We don’t need to just help members when they’re in desperate need. It’s important for us to … support members so that they don’t get to a place where they need emergency financial assistance.
Cyd Wilson
SAG-AFTRA Foundation Executive Director
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation gives performers access to classes and events that can help them keep up with the ever-changing demands of the industry. But it also provides other resources and services that support industry professionals and their families in times of need.
The SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement provided an overview of the free services with Here to Help: SAG-AFTRA Foundation on Oct. 16. The event, hosted in partnership with the SAG-AFTRA National Seniors Committee, featured Committee Co-Chair Lee Purcell as co-host alongside SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair.
SAG-AFTRA Foundation Executive Director Cyd Wilson and National Director of Performers Programs Rochelle Rose presented an overview of the Foundation’s mission and its benefits for members. Topics covered included an outline of its emergency financial services for members in need, virtual and in-person classes and workshops, on-site facilities and career-enhancing programming.
