Highlights From the New Orleans Member Orientation

The New Orleans Local held its first new member orientation virtually on Monday, Sept. 12, hosted by the Local Communications Committee for new and veteran members to learn more about SAG-AFTRA. Committee member Rhonda Laizer emphasized, “I was so glad to be a part of the orientation, as there was so much important information presented for members to know about!” 

Discussed at the meeting was the importance of staying up to date on your dues, so you can take advantage of member benefits such as serving on boards or committees, SAG Awards voting and screeners, and participating in SAG-AFTRA Foundation programs. Members can sign up for a Foundation account to access their programs on acting, auditioning and voice track recording, and feedback from casting professionals. Financial assistance is also available to those in need from the Foundation and the Entertainment Community Fund. 

Also mentioned were the deals and discounts that can be found on the SAG-AFTRA website (when logged in) or member app to help members save money.
