On Feb. 9, members of the Houston-Austin Local attended a two-hour educational seminar and workshop aimed at discussing the current landscape of commercial work and where it is headed in the not-so-distant future.

The session, described as an “educational think tank,” was hosted by the MediaTech Institute for Creative Arts, a for-profit technical school in Houston that specializes in media production. Katie Wallack, Manager of Contracts and Member Outreach for the local was a presenter at the event and gave an informative presentation on advertising trends and technology. Members found the event helpful in shaping new ways of thinking about commercial work in the digital space.

A phone bank also took place with Local Board members conducting outreach to new and transfer members.
