SAG-AFTRA’s Los Angeles Local executive director, Ilyanne Morden Kichaven, was named one of the 500 most influential people in Los Angeles by the L.A. Business Journal in its inaugural The Los Angeles 500 list. The directory of the city’s most influential people who shape the business and social fabric of the region was published in August. Chronicling the business community in Los Angeles for four decades, the Journal’s directory is a “guidebook to the people who make an impact,” describes publisher and CEO Matthew Toledo.

Comprised of business and civic leaders throughout the city who are shaping its future, Morden Kichaven joins luminaries such as Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, U.S. Rep. Janice Hahn, J.J. Abrams, Sherry Lansing, Steven Spielberg, Clippers owner and former CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer, businesswoman Arianna Huffington and Los Angeles County Supervisor and former U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.

Morden Kichaven began at Screen Actors Guild in 2000, overseeing communications and marketing, and took the post of Hollywood executive director in 2005. Transitioning to Los Angeles Local Executive Director post-merger, she is responsible for supporting local contractual, organizing, governance and member matters, as well as committee programs and union activities and inter-labor, industry, public and government relations and outreach.

Active in both entertainment and labor, Morden Kichaven sits on boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Los Angeles Branch; the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and FilmLA, as well as serving on the Motion Picture & Television Fund governing body and The Actors Fund Western Council and its Looking Ahead young performer program. She is a primary delegate to the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, the California Federation of Labor, the Los Angeles Citywide Film Taskforce, and the Los Angeles Public Affairs & Arts Coalition, and serves as the liaison to many of the union’s essential partners. She is a member of the Television Academy, an executive member of Women In Film and she supports numerous industry and charitable organizations.

“Our Los Angeles Local is so fortunate to have such a passionate and dedicated advocate who works tirelessly for us all — and the entire membership,” stated Secretary-Treasurer and Los Angeles Local President Jane Austin. “We are extremely lucky that Ilyanne has chosen to dedicate her career to bettering the lives of all performers and media artists.”

Congratulations, Ilyanne!
