This new report demonstrates the widespread impact film and television production has in Massachusetts.
On Wednesday, October 21, the Massachusetts Production Coalition released a first-of-its-kind study on the regional economic impact of Hulu's Castle Rock, Season 1.
This new report demonstrates the widespread impact film production has in Massachusetts, especially in the growth of episodic TV and streaming series filming in the state.
You can view the report online here.
The study finds that in just one season of filming for Castle Rock:
- 1,026 jobs were created
- $69 million in economic activity was generated
- Spending occurred in 210 cities and towns across the state.
- $4.73 of economic activity was generated for each $1 of tax credit issued by the state
You need to make sure your state legislators know about this study! Please email your legislators TODAY through this link.
As this report demonstrates, the local film and television industry is poised to be a catalyst in the state’s economic recovery. We hope that it will encourage them to remove the pending sunset of the state’s production incentive, allowing this industry to continue creating jobs and generating spending to local businesses.
