Intimacy Coordinators Vote YES to Unionizing with SAG-AFTRA
Intimacy coordinators — those who work as advocates, liaisons between actors and production, and movement coaches and/or choreographers on scenes that involve nudity and simulated sex — have voted to join SAG-AFTRA in a National Labor Relations Board vote which was tallied earlier today. The final vote was 99% in favor of unionizing with SAG-AFTRA.
Organizing intimacy coordinators is the natural evolution of the union’s commitment to help build a stable and safe future for our members. In the years following the #MeToo movement, the union has supported intimacy coordinators through key initiatives including the creation of Standards and Protocols for Use of Intimacy Coordinators on Set, and Standards for Qualification, Training and Vetting.
