Because of our unified action, Grey Global Group is providing SAG–AFTRA with documentation related to its relationship with Townhouse (aka Townhouse 23).
Here’s the backstory.
On April 28 we alerted you to our investigation of Grey Global, which is signatory to our Commercials Contracts. We were concerned about the possible production of non-union commercials through a company called Townhouse. Since that time, we filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board and visited the set of a non-union Disney/Hasbro commercial that we suspected of also being produced by Grey through Townhouse.
Our collective actions enabled SAG-AFTRA representatives to sit down with Grey representatives. At that meeting, Grey agreed to provide the required information we requested at the beginning of the investigation. The agency has since forwarded documentation to the union.
The good news: Because of the vigilance and actions of SAG-AFTRA members and supporters, the union strengthened its position. But we still need your help. This remains an ongoing investigation, and we must ensure it will be comprehensive and thorough.
Please be on the lookout for any information about Grey Global and Townhouse, as well as any suspicious activity by other ad agencies. If you see anything of interest, please contact us at adsgounion@sagaftra.org.
A union staff member will follow up with you. Any info provided is confidential.
