Following the successful conclusion of negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the Joint Policy Committee (JPC), the SAG-AFTRA National Board overwhelmingly approved today the tentative 2025 SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contracts, sending them to the membership for ratification with a May 21 deadline to vote.

The tentative agreement represents a forward-looking roadmap for the commercial industry, balancing meaningful economic and benefit improvements for performers with the flexibility and innovation needed by advertisers and producers in a rapidly evolving media landscape. The parties worked collaboratively to modernize the contracts, adopting terms that reflect today’s changing modes of media consumption and production practices.

Leaders from both sides of the bargaining table shared the following statements:

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said, “Reaching this deal required a shared understanding of where our industry is headed and what working performers need most. The result is forward-thinking contracts that deliver real wage growth, cutting-edge A.I. guardrails and stronger benefits. I commend the collaboration that brought us to this point and look forward to our members reviewing the terms and casting their votes.”

Joint Policy Committee Chief Negotiator Stacy Marcus of DLA Piper said, “Negotiators on both sides worked diligently to create contracts that reflect current industry realities while anticipating future challenges. The terms support continued innovation in advertising while honoring the contributions of performers. We value the constructive partnership with SAG-AFTRA and look forward to moving ahead together.”
