UPDATE: To All Claimants of KMR Talent Agency:

We want to thank you all for working so diligently with SAG-AFTRA in attempting to file your proof of loss as completely and timely as you have been against this formerly franchised agency. We appreciate your tenacity, patience and support throughout this process–we know for many it has been a profoundly confusing and frustrating experience.

Staff is still assisting members to compile proof of loss–the response from aggrieved members seeking SAG-AFTRA assistance and support has been substantive and continues. At this time, we are asking all aggrieved performers to ensure that all of your requested documentation is complete so that any arbitrators and/or claim specialists can be handed a finalized or “perfected” claim for you. At our aggrieved members’ meeting, we will address options that are available to you, both as individuals and/or as a group, and we will attempt to answer any questions that you may have about where we are at this point in time and the expectation of recovery against this agency.

Accordingly, our first ‘aggrieved members’ meeting has been set down, via Zoom, for Thursday April 25, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. PT. At that meeting most of the Professional Representatives Department staff involved in this process will be in attendance, as well as representatives from the Legal Department to provide additional support and answer all of your questions. We have also taken the unusual step of extending an invitation to the Chair and Vice Chairs of the Professional Representatives Committee to also assist in the meeting, as needed. Your Committee Chairs have been kept abreast of all developments throughout as the situation with KMR continues to unfold and they may offer an invaluable member perspective as well.

Please note: this notice is purely a “save the date” one–so you have the opportunity to carve out some time in your calendars well in advance if you are desirous of/wish to attend. We will be sending out, shortly, registration information for the meeting itself, as the date draws closer; an event which we anticipate may likely host a very large number of you who have undoubtedly been wondering “what’s next?” Please note this meeting is only for aggrieved performers who were performing SAG-AFTRA covered work, and you will be required to register accordingly.

If you have not yet provided adequate proof of loss for union-covered work to the Professional Representatives Department, please email the required information as soon as possible to agency@sagaftra.org. Only performers who have filed adequate proof of loss will be invited to attend this initial meeting. There will also be a subsequent meeting of aggrieved performers if you are not able to attend this one or have not provided adequate proof of loss. If you have any questions about this meeting or this process, please feel free to contact our department–our information is below.

You may find a list of required information in the KMR inactivation notice here

Please respond to the exact documentation requests that we make of you. It will make the entire process easier for you at the time when you will be required to demonstrate your proof of loss to an arbitrator or claims specialist. Please feel free to contact us if there is any confusion or if we can assist with any questions that you may have in the interim.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting with the whole group very soon.
