Your Los Angeles Local Board of Directors continues to meet virtually approximately every six weeks. L.A. Local President Jodi Long and the Board hope in the near future that there will be an opportunity to once again invite, as had been done pre-pandemic, L.A. members-at-large to observe their Board in action.

Meetings include a review of a wide variety of administrative, finance and governance matters as well as reports both from Los Angeles committees and from your staff.

Recent meeting highlights include:

Oct. 4, 2021

Long and the L.A. Local Board recognized outgoing President Patricia Richardson and First Vice President Frances Fisher for their service and dedication to the local membership.

The president’s recommendations for the 2021–2023 chairs of Los Angeles committees were approved. The Board appointed two members to fill vacant Los Angeles positions on the National Board.

The Los Angeles Local Board issued a statement of support of IATSE’s ongoing contract negotiations and congratulated IATSE on their membership’s overwhelming show of solidarity throughout the talks.

Nov. 22, 2021

During their last meeting of 2021, the Los Angeles Local Board participated in an interactive educational program on unconscious bias.

L.A. Local Executive Director Serena Kung provided an update on the Local’s activities and also presented Los Angeles member data updates for the 2020–2021 fiscal year.

The Board approved several recently negotiated L.A. broadcast collective bargaining agreements and also received an update on the ongoing Los Angeles Commercials W&W process.

The Board also approved L.A. Local committee member appointments recommended by the chairs of several Los Angeles Local Committees and filled a Los Angeles vacancy on the National Board.

Jan. 10, 2022
