SAG-AFTRA was well represented at Labor Day parades around New York State, with members participating in events in New York City, Buffalo and Syracuse.

For the first time, SAG-AFTRA members from the Western and Central New York regions participated in the New York State Fair and Labor Day Parade in Syracuse and the Buffalo Labor Day Parade in South Buffalo, both of which were held on Sept. 2. The contingents in Syracuse and Buffalo were coordinated by member volunteers under the auspices of the MOVE New York Western New York/Central New York Subcommittee.

The MOVE New York Committee was hard at work as well, coordinating SAG-AFTRA members’ participation in the New York City Central Labor Council’s annual Labor Day parade on Sept. 7. The theme of this year’s parade was “Building Worker Power Together.” SAG-AFTRA members showed the strength of unity as they marched up Fifth Avenue with brothers and sisters from fellow entertainment industry unions, including AEA, Local 802 – AFM, IATSE and WGAE.
