The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Virtual On-Camera Lab provides performers with help when creating a self-taped audition.
Over the years, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s On-Camera Lab, with locations in New York and in Los Angeles, has helped members create self-taped auditions for film, television and commercials. However, since the pandemic, the labs’ in-person services have transitioned into an online resource, the Virtual On-Camera Lab.
To give members more information about the Virtual On-Camera Lab and the services provided to performers self-taping at home, the SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement hosted Intro to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Virtual On-Camera Lab on June 3. The webinar took place as part of the PTEOE’s Biz Basics series and was led by SAG-AFTRA Foundation On-Camera Lab technician Zachary Fineman.
Fineman’s presentation covered the basics of the Virtual On-Camera Lab as well as the Tech Help Desk, which offers assistance in troubleshooting common technical issues.
“It doesn’t matter if you feel that you’re a novice or [if you are] a bit more tech-savvy. We’re here to help for all levels of expertise,” said Fineman.
Also featured in the presentation was a live demonstration showing how to create a SAG-AFTRA Foundation account and make an appointment through the Foundation’s website. A Q&A session followed the presentation.
