Let Me Tell You a Story

SAG-AFTRA member Sean Pratt, a career coach for actors and audiobook narrators, presented Let Me Tell You a Story: An Introduction to the Audiobook Industry for a packed house on Saturday, Feb. 19. Pratt gave inside advice on how working actors can expand their skillsets and career opportunities in the thriving audiobook market, where he has built a successful niche. Pratt shared his insights on the best internet resources for finding work, standards for making an audiobook narration demo reel and basic equipment needs for creating an at-home recording booth. Steve Sidawi, SAG-AFTRA’s national director for organizing, gave an overview of the union’s audiobook contracts and helped Pratt answer questions on the state of the industry and where it’s heading next.
